Cooking List: Fish We Caught

After deep sea fishing, it’s fish every meal (including brekkie). I wasn’t fully prepared for the amount of fish last time, so this time I prepared a cooking list as well as a guest list. This post is to share with you guys the fish dishes that I cooked!

每次深海釣魚後,餐餐吃魚(連早餐都有魚)。繼上次因釣魚前沒有萬全準備,魚多到讓我有點招架不住。這次學乖,不但有烹煮清單,還有邀請清單(極度Type A)。這篇文章就是想和大家分享我的烹煮故事!


Poke Cake (?)

Instead of buying Yum Yum Sauce from the supermarket, there are many recipes online that you can use. Instead of a poké bowl, this is more like Poké Cake.

夏威夷蓋飯(糕?)

與其買超市裡罐裝Yum Yum Sauce,網路上有許多食譜,朋友也教我:事先做好會更入味!不知道為什麼我特別喜歡朋友來家裡時做一些很繁瑣的事,就像我堅持把poke弄成蛋糕一樣(UN傻眼)。


Bonito and Salsa Verde

I don’t know what I was thinking when I decided to bring the fishy bonito to potluck. I made Athena Calderone’s Lemon Caper Salsa Verde to go with the bonito, hoping the sauce would cover the intense taste of the bonito. My friends showed my dish a lot of love at the potluck! (Arigato!)

鰹魚和莎莎青醬

不知道我哪來的膽子,竟然煮腥味頗重的鰹魚到朋友聚會,但我真的太想做Athena Calderone的Lemon Caper Salsa Verde(去年一直做已經深印在腦中),也求這salsa verde能幫我蓋住腥味。帶到聚會後,大家也用行動表達!


Fried Tuna and Carpaccio

I seldom fry food at home, but since I have a large can of canola oil that I haven’t used, I’ve decided to deep fry tuna. UN was my taste tester, for I wanted to find out which marinade is the best. I made a batch and took it over to our pastor’s place. I’m so grateful that our pastor and his family enjoyed my fried tuna, and ate all of it! I also made Tuna Carpaccio, but cut them into cubes instead of slices. Tuna Carpaccio tastes so heavenly, especially with the Italian vinaigrette that my friend W gave me! (Pictured is the Tuna Carpaccio I made the night that caught all those fish)

炸鮪魚和義式生魚片

這晚我們在牧師家吃飯。鮮少在家烹煮炸食,但家中有一大瓶芥花油遲遲未用,我決定嘗試炸鮪魚。一整個下午UN不停試吃我做的炸魚,就是想知道哪種醃料最好吃。真的感謝牧師一家人好彭場,吃光我做的炸鮪魚!順帶一提我做錯的Tuna Carpaccio,明明想作成薄片,卻切成塊狀。照片補上我們釣魚當晚回家後做的Tuna Carpaccio,配上好友W送我的超好吃義大利香醋,太完美了!


Mahi Mahi Steak

This night was date night, originally the plan was a romantic night to have dinner followed by some light reading to end the evening. But accidentally rubbed my eyes after I cut up some okinawa jalapeños, my eyes were burning! I washed my hands over and over, felt like I rubbed off two layers of skin, but I once again burned myself while washing my face that night. This nightmare finally came to an end when I layered my hands and face with olive oil. On the positive note, UN loved the Mahi Mahi steak!

魚排

這天是約會日,原本是想浪漫吃晚餐然後一起看書,卻忘了切辣椒是件恐怖的事!開動後突然手癢揉眼睛,又刺又燒!事情還未結束,手徹底洗了無數次,皮膚都變成葡萄乾,但當晚洗臉時整張臉還是被辣到!最後手和臉塗滿橄欖油(網路教的)才終止這一切(心已累)。UN說很好吃!


Fish and Chips

UN said this is the best Fish and Chips that he’s ever tasted! Homemade tartar sauce is very easy to make! Such a rare occasion that there’s fried food at the house twice in a week.

炸魚薯條

UN說這是他吃過最好吃的Fish and Chips(真假的?)朋友們也好捧場!值得提一下,自製塔塔醬非常簡單!一週連續在家做炸物實在太難得了。


Chirashi

Fresh fish is best served sashimi style! Rice topped with layers and layers of sashimi and fried egg. The only thing that will complete this is some miso soup, but I ran out of miso.

散壽司

釣這麼新鮮的魚怎能不吃生魚片呢!飯上面撲滿生魚片和自己做的煎蛋,要是能來再來一碗味增湯就好了,但家裡味增吃光了!


Shark Meat

Buyers beware, sharks have a strong smell and taste, and have skin rough like sanding paper! I was too overwhelmed to prepare shark, but my brave friend E made fish balls out of them. They surprisingly taste pretty good!

鯊魚肉

鯊魚氣味實在太重,皮也像是磨砂紙般粗糙,讓我遲遲不敢處理。但朋友E實在太強了,竟把鯊魚肉做成丸子和炸鯊魚丸!
