NYC Summer 2019 | 夏日紐約 2019

滿滿的四天行程，是我們完全沒預料到的大驚喜！最後一秒和朋友們約見面，感謝大家抽空出來。 這趟真的很趕，週一下午決定開車上紐約，抵達紐約時已經週二凌晨了。一上路，立刻聯絡在紐約的朋友們，完全不想錯過任何機會！

在郵輪上寫這篇文章覺得特別感恩！六月底時還不知道七月的行程，兩個禮拜前根本不知道我們什麼時候會去日本，也還沒訂郵輪行程。記得當時和朋友討論我們最理想的時間規劃，現在竟然夢想成真！感謝神這一路上的驚喜，我們真的很感恩！

We had an eventful four days in New York City that was to our surprise it could’ve happened. Thank you to our friends who were able to meet us on last minute notice. We rushed to New York from Virginia, left on Monday afternoon and arrived past midnight. I was making calls and texting people during our drive. Didn’t want to miss any chance to hang out with friends!

I wrote this post on our cruise with so much gratitude. Towards end of June, we still had no idea what our July schedule is going to be like. The last two weeks in Virginia we had no clue how we were gonna get to Japan, and we didn’t dare book our cruise. We were shocked that everything happened according to our ideal plan. Praise the Lord for the many surprises along the way! 

Broadway: Book of Mormon

第一次來紐約看百老匯就是這部Book of Mormon。記得幾年前UN在生日前夕給我一張卡片，說今年沒禮物，一打開卡片竟是Book of Mormon的票，感動到我大哭！當時還沒住紐約，有時只能YouTube上看表演，能到現場的機會非常珍貴。搬來紐約後，幾乎以一個禮拜看一齣表演計算，忘了當初那種哇要看百老匯的熱情，反而看完開始像寫評語一樣大肆討論。今天UN又買了Book of Mormon的票，開心卻帶點感傷。開心的是這部是我們都喜歡也是我來紐約第一部，感傷則是要離開紐約了，能隨時看百老匯的機會真的不多了。

中場休息時，有人昏倒，UN還幫助那人！太帥了💕

Our very first Broadway show in NYC was Book of Mormon. Years ago, UN told me he didn’t get a birthday present for me, instead only gave me a card. When I opened the card, there were Book of Mormon tickets inside, I was moved to tears! I wasn’t living in NYC yet at the time, could only watch clips of Broadway shows on YouTube. I cherished the opportunity to watch a live Broadway show. After I moved to NYC, I watch on average one show per week, nearly forgot how precious it was when I watched my first show. Instead, I started critiquing them. UN bought Book of Mormons tickets again today. A mixed bag of emotions. Happy that we got to rewatch our first and one of our favorite Broadway shows, but sad that this may be the last show that we get to watch in NYC.

During intermission, UN helped a lady who fainted! I’m utterly impressed!

上禮拜很幸運能被Yelp邀到我愛的龍蝦堡餐廳Luke’s Lobster。創始人Ben解釋他們的開店理念和為什麼他們只使用能繼續繁殖的龍蝦（好難翻譯）。愛吃Luke’s Lobster的我，這真的是一個非常有意義的活動，終於懂什麼是”sustainable lobster”。還有，他們最近在台灣開了！能在台灣吃到這麼好吃的龍蝦堡，真是為台灣人開心啊！

Last week, I was very fortunately to get invited by Yelp for Luke’s Lobster event.  The co-founder, Ben, was showing us what “sustainable lobster” means.  Being a big fan of Luke’s Lobster, this event was so educational and special to me!  And, their latest international location, Taiwan!!!!!  OMG, how can I not get excited!
